We 150 members of the Palisades Church come from all walks
of life: men and women; European, Asian and African ancestry; student, working and
retired. We have jobs as varied as accountant, cook and volcanologist. Some of us have
been believers all of our lives; other are still searching for answers. We are
united by being a faith community that offers both a non-threatening place to
seek spiritual growth and base from which to participate in the work that every
human being is called to do - making the world in which we live a better
place. The life of the Church centers about both the Sunday Worship Service and the
week-night committee meetings. All members are encouraged to join one or more
committee, each of which supervises a different aspect of Church activities.
The Worship and Arts committee, for instance, oversees the content of
worship services, with the object of having them foster a high level of
spirituality though a careful choice of readings, music, and decor. A Sunday School for children is held concurrently with the Sunday Worship
Service in the Parish House that adjoins the Sanctuary. The Church is governed by its Session, a 10-person board of directors consisting
of the Pastor and 9 other people elected by the Church's members. Church Officers:
